For the most part, this fits my thinking exactly.

Humans have always build religious temples rather than connections. This is sad because as soon as that temple is built, it's care and expansion become primary, and care of people becomes secondary.

The temple does not expand the ability of a believe to connect with others. Rather it is an arrangement of walls acting to define and isolate a group.

The temple is a bulwark against new ideas and experiences. It imprisons members and subjects them to the authority of a priest as surely as a criminal prison bends inmates to a regime of behavior.

True freedom is a personal connection with Jesus through relationships with small groups of people wanting to explore and understand the world, and spread grace through new experiences and relationships.
