Forty percent of my staff were women. That was purposeful, by design. Women were far better at the job than men.

Yes, I hired men, enough to form goon squads when needed, but women made the need for goon squads skills less necessary.

And most of the women were Black because they were much better at client relations, since most of our clients were Black men. I mean Black men respond better to Black women. They're used to being with strong Black women.

Many of the women were single mothers supporting a family. They had two jobs: working for money, and raising kids. They were serious about both. I mean real serious. Like keep out of poverty serious. In other words, they didn't play games. They didn't fuck around.

I was a prison warden.
