The point in legislating "Christian values" is not to change people's behavior. Rather, it's to provide a legal path to inflict violence on others who are different. The objective is not behavioral change, it's to aquire the power to be cruel. The point is the violence that affirms self-righteous power. What else should we expect from a religion that glorifies human sacrifice and body/blood communion?
