Trump’s Local Lackey: The MAGA Poisoning of Local Government

The Lawsuit:

Bridge Magazine has reported that Former President Trump has sued Michigan Governor Whitmer for expanding voter access to polling places. One of the Governor’s action provisions is establishing voter registration/polling places at veteran’s facilities, making it easier for veterans to exercise their Constitutional right to vote.

What kind of a person is against making it easier for injured and disabled veterans to vote?

In Ottawa County, Michigan, we have the opportunity to judge for ourselves.

Bridge also reported that Mr. Ryan Kidd, Georgetown Twp. Clerk is a co-plaintiff in Trump’s lawsuit against Governor Whitmer.

Accreditation/Certification

One of the major duties of the Georgetown Twp. clerk is to provide overall supervision for the initial processing of election ballots in a manner meeting the highest standards of election integrity. Michigan requires a twp. clerk with such duties to be accredited and election-certified within six months of assuming office.

Mr. Kidd, running for reelection, did not receive such required accreditation/election certification until June, 2024, three (3 ½) years after first assuming office.
